Everton legend Tim Cahill overjoyed as his son Shae joins Toffees
EVERTON legend Tim Cahill is over the moon that his son Shae has joined the Toffees academy.
Striker Cahill, who retired in March, posted this photograph on Instagram of him alongside his 14-year-old son at Goodison Park.
Shae has been training with Everton at Finch Farm since he was 11.
Former Socceroos star Tim wrote: "Makes me so proud to see my baby training with @Everton while he's over in the UK.
"Blue runs in the blood."
And in an personal message to Shae on Instagram he said: "The journey is just about to begin @shaetc17
"Cherish this moment because this is all the hard work that you have put in up to now.
"I'm always here to help you follow your dreams but the dedication and sacrifice is all down to you.
"So proud of you and look forward to picking you up when your down, not just praising you when things are good... welcome to the tough world of being a footballer my man.
"Time to work harder now and most importantly enjoy the process"
Tim, 39, first joined the Toffees from Millwall in 2004.
In an eight-year career at Goodison he played 226 games, scoring 56 goals.
The striker went onto have spells at New York Red Bulls and Melbourne City.
He also played in the China Super League with Shanghui Shenhua and Hangzhou Greentown.
Now Shae is leading the next generation of Cahill footballers.
Tim returned to Millwall for a short spell last season before playing in the Indian Super League and then hanging up his boots.
